Rooted in Purpose, Growing in Impact: Welcoming Kris Anest as ACEE’s New Board Chair

Kris has been a longtime supporter of ACEE as a teacher, board member, and corporate partner. Her affiliation with ACEE began in 2004 as a teacher feeding her passion promoting financial literacy among Arizona students. She moved from teaching to work for Schwab and would often use her vacation time to substitute teach in the Chandler Unified School District. Kris led Schwab’s Phoenix Community Ambassadors for many years and was instrumental in securing ACEE funding in support of their student programs, as a corporate partner.

Kris’ mom is so important in her story. She grew up dirt poor in South Tucson and she was tough, tough, tough! Her values and all that she learned, she passed on to Kris. Her mom advocated for education and community. Kris is now in the dissertation phase of completing her doctorate. Additionally, Kris’ community involvement started at the age of fourteen. She has since won corporate awards for inspiring peers to foster stronger communities. She was also a 2024 Daily Point of Light Award honoree for financial literacy efforts in underserved classrooms. Kris’ mom planted the seeds to always give back, and she’ll never lose them.
