Job Title: Program Manager

Organization: Arizona Council on Economic Education (ACEE)

Location: Phoenix, AZ Metro Area (Primarily Remote)

Salary: $62,000 – $75,000, Commensurate with Experience

ACEE is a statewide 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving economic and financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and workforce development in Arizona.  Founded in 1974, ACEE has served 2,249 public, charter, tribal, and private schools with a network of more than 10,000 K-12 teachers in Arizona. ACEE’s mission is to reach and teach every Arizona student to become financially and economically responsible in work and life. ACEE has teacher, student, and community programs, annually providing professional development to more than 2,000 teachers, and engaging programs to 300,000 socioeconomically diverse students.

ACEE is viewed as a leader in financial literacy and economics education statewide and nationwide. ACEE has a strong academic base and affiliations with several universities and community colleges and provides proven economic education curriculum resources to schools free of charge. ACEE works closely with many private and public organizations, including the Arizona Department of Education and the Federal Reserve Banks.

POSITION OVERVIEW

ACEE is seeking an organized, energetic, and mission-driven Program Manager to support and lead various education-focused programs and initiatives. This full-time position offers primarily remote work, with in-person responsibilities both within and outside the Phoenix area. This position will report to the Director of Education Services and Impact. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Programs

  • Collaborate with and provide training to adults including teachers, volunteers, and parents in addition to students
  • Facilitate and support the implementation of multiple programs, including EconReads (K – 3), Financial Fitness in Action (7th – 12th), and the Economics Concepts Poster Contest (K-12)
  • Manage registration, attendance records, and data collection for programs
  • Manage post-program communications and evaluations
  • Create and deliver professional development sessions as needed
  • Attend programs and provide volunteer support
  • Assist with teacher communications and material preparation
  • Support event logistics and volunteer recruitment coordination
  • Manage food/sponsorship logistics for programs
  • Support community outreach events as needed

Volunteer Management

  • Recruit, engage, and support volunteers across all ACEE programs
  • Coordinate volunteer involvement in student programs and community events

Events and Program Support

  • Support ACEE’s annual special events
  • Support data tracking, analysis, and reporting for internal and grant-related use

Operations and Communications

  • Assist with processing invoices
  • Maintain high standards for program quality control and procedural consistency

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, economics, or finance
  • Strong knowledge and experience in teaching economics and finance
  • Three or more years of experience as an educator
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong data entry and analytical skills
  • Very proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and online collaboration tools
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Experience working with educators and volunteers preferred
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills

Desirable Additional Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Grant reporting experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of ACEE programs
  • Event management

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Programs Manager will work primarily remotely offsite and be required at the ACEE office as needed. Workdays and time may depend on the programs schedule sometimes outside of 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Some evening or weekend hours may be required for events and programs. ACEE’s work environment is innovative. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally required to stand and is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms. The individual is frequently required to sit, use hands-to-finger, handle or feel, talk, and hear. The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Compensation and benefits for this full-time role is competitive with educational non-profits of similar size at $62,000 – $75,000 based on qualifications and experience. There are 12 to 17 paid days off depending on tenure plus 11 paid public holidays. Additional benefits include cell phone service stipend and medical stipend.
