This one-hour workshop is designed for new and veteran teachers to the Stock Market Game (SMG), in grades 7 – 12. The workshop presenter, Kathy Pondy, ACEE Director or Student Programs and the Arizona SMG coordinator, will provide an overview of the SMG online platform, including how to make a trade, how to research stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, and how to track portfolio activity. In addition, teachers will experience a new feature of the SMG, InvestQuest, a fun and informative new offering designed to provide students with an introduction to investing in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.
Participants will gain tips to getting students started in the SMG, engaging lessons to teach students about investing and strategies for implanting the SMG in the classroom. Additionally, participants will be able to view the simulation from both the student and teacher’s perspective.
