Dr. Emily Schwartz is the financial education manager and assistant vice president at MidFirst Bank. She has spent ten years building the MoneyMoments program, a consumer facing financial education program consisting of virtual and in-person workshops and online resources that are free of both cost and commercial to community members. The MoneyMoments program has been recognized multiple times by the American Banker’s Association as being one of the top 5 financial education programs in the country, and currently reaches over 6,000 people per year in the Arizona market.
A former K-12 teacher and University professor, Emily holds degrees in education from both the University of Southern California and Arizona State University including her Ph.D. focusing on attribution theories of motivation as they relate to task design in the classroom. Her current volunteer work includes committees for the Higher Education Financial Wellness Association, American Bankers Association, the Arizona CTE association, as well as a board member for ACEE. She’s been recognized by the ASU First Year Success department as well as the national TRIO grant program for her commitment to helping first generation college students adjust to the financial expectations of college. A dynamic speaker and presenter, she’s also a frequent keynote and session facilitator on the subjects of money and career development at national and regional conferences.
