Kathy Pondy

Director of Student & Teacher Services 

Kathy Pondy is a seasoned professional in the field of economic and personal finance education, currently serving as the Director of Student and Teacher Services for the Arizona Council on Economic Education (ACEE). With over four years of dedicated experience in this role, Kathy has demonstrated leadership and a passion for advancing economic and financial literacy among students and educators alike. 

Drawing upon over 30 years of experience as an educator and instructional leader, Kathy has been instrumental in increasing the reach of ACEE’s student programs in settings across Arizona. Her efforts have contributed to the organization’s presence within the state as well as increased national respect for the Arizona Council on Economic Education. 

Kathy’s expertise extends beyond her role at ACEE, as a sought-after presenter in the field of economic education. Additionally, Kathy plays a pivotal role in shaping professional development efforts as the leader of the Professional Development committee for the National Association of Economic Educators (NAEE). 

Educationally, Kathy holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in History education. Her academic background, coupled with her extensive professional experience, equips her with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive meaningful change in economic and personal finance education. 

Kathy has been honored as a 2012 Deer Valley Unified School District Teacher of the Year and nominated as a Rising Star by NAEE. Beyond her role at ACEE, Kathy advises the Arizona Civics Coalition, Arizona Business and Marketing Educators, and Communication Media Technologies groups, contributing to educational advancement and collaboration.
