Did you know that 94% of all workers use basic math in their jobs? In fact, most careers require good math skills. In this session, participants will use math to solve problems from different careers such as “What angle must the ball be kicked in order for a football placekicker to get the ball over the goal post?”, “What size water tank is needed for a new housing community if the tank needs to hold 5000 gallons of water?”, and “What famous company logos include transformations of a simple shape?” Join us in exploring how to use math to spark students’ interest in different careers.
Participants will receive access to Money Minutes, a free classroom resource to help students understand financial and economic decisions using math.
