Q: How did your family and culture influence who you are today?

My family belongs to India, the country with one of the oldest civilizations in the world. The country which thrives in unity in diversity, because it is multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi-lingual.

This diverse characteristic has given birth to the society which is ancient, religiously tolerant, respects nature and elders and lives in harmony. My family has practiced the cultural heritage and it has molded me into a person who can travel across the world, the world which is totally different in many ways and in culture but still enjoy being here and pursuing the teaching career successfully for close to eight years. It is the family values of trusting people around you that I lived in this far off world all alone for first few years. I carry with me the trust, love and belief of my family and the culture of my country which is my identity and love being an educator.

Q: Why is ACEE important to you?

ACEE is important to me because I am a part of the education system in Arizona and I believe in the following:

Vision of ACEE: A Financially and Economically Literate Arizona.

Mission of ACEE: To reach and teach every Arizona student to become financially and economically responsible in work and life.

It also provides free of cost resource materials to teachers and students through their webinars. It has also given me a deeper insight that economics is part of our daily life. And has made me learn a lot. It empowers teachers, students and the community to become active partners in the global community and realize that each one of us can make a difference. The team also is very helpful and always there for you which makes ACEE reachable.

Q: Why do you care about financial and economic education?

Financial and Economic Education is very important to run our daily life smoothly. Both of these set our goals so that we don’t face financial crises and difficulties. It is very important for each one of us whether we are salaried or business or even non-earning people. It helps us in our life goals like education, retirements, and whether to take loans or not, and how to efficiently utilize the money taken for a loan and how to return it on time. It also helps to plan our savings as well as spending. Economics study human behavior, goods and services and Finance studies banks, loans, investments and savings.

Financial Education helps us to apply the economic way of thinking and they go side by side to help us to lead a happy, secure life. Financial stability is very important these days as it provides confidence and a path to fulfill our dreams.
