Teresa Mungai

Director of Teacher Programs

As Director of Teacher Programs, Teresa is responsible for statewide teacher professional development programs in financial literacy and economics. She started her career as a teacher at the junior high school in Coolidge, AZ. Teresa went on to teach Honors/Dual Enrollment Economics and US Government at Queen Creek High School. After serving as a school administrator for 2 years, Teresa served as the K-12 Social Studies and Civics Specialist for the Arizona Department of Education. She has a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics from Northern Arizona University.  Teresa serves as a board member for the Arizona Council for the Social Studies and the Inspiring Courage Legacy Fund.  She is also a member of the Arizona Service-Learning Alliance, the Arizona Civics Coalition, the Arizona Council on History Education, and the National Association for Economic Educators.  Teresa is extremely passionate about financial literacy and economics education and providing teachers with professional development opportunities.
