Discover the powerful connections between rhythm, motion, mathematical thinking, and real-world decision-making in this immersive, arts-centered workshop hosted at Ballet Arizona. Designed for educators of all grade levels, this session blends creativity with practical classroom application to help students build understanding through music, movement, and foundational economic concepts.

Led by an experienced dance educator, this workshop will guide participants through activities that link math concepts to movement-based learning—such as beat, pattern, and spatial awareness—while also exploring how math and economics influence the world of ballet. The Executive Director of Ballet Arizona will share insights into the financial choices behind running a professional arts organization, including budgeting, production costs, and the trade-offs involved in staging a performance. Educators will walk away with cross-disciplinary lesson ideas that connect the arts, math, and basic economic principles to help students think critically about both creative and financial decision-making.

All participants will receive the following:

  • Behind-the-scenes tour of Ballet Arizona’s facility
  • Discount tickets to an upcoming ballet performance
  • 3 hours of professional development credit
  • Snacks
  • Travel stipend ($20 for Maricopa County, $40 for all other AZ counties)

Please contact Robin Palmer if you have any questions related to this workshop.

You have to be an ACEE member to sign up for a program. Membership is free.
