ACEE is proud to partner with United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Fellow, Kyl Rucker, to offer this workshop.

Teaching about the Holocaust is a profound responsibility, and educators deserve engaging, reliable tools to approach it with confidence. In this dynamic workshop, teachers will explore the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s foundational resources alongside powerful stories of rescue and resilience, using the Economic Way of Thinking to illuminate the difficult decisions and heroic acts of those who chose to help. Participants will experience interactive virtual and in-person activities, discover resources that highlight multiple perspectives, and gain ready-to-use lessons—all fully aligned with the Arizona History and Social Science Standards and the AZ State Board of Education’s requirements for Holocaust and genocide education. Educators will leave with practical strategies, deeper understanding, and renewed inspiration to teach this history accurately, thoughtfully, and meaningfully.

All participants will receive the following:

  • 4 hours of professional development credit
  • Lunch
  • Resources and lessons for classroom use
  • Travel stipend ($20 for Maricopa County, $40 for all other AZ counties)

Please contact Teresa Mungai if you have any questions related to this workshop.
