Bring the excitement of Halloween into your classroom while strengthening students’ mathematical reasoning and financial literacy! In this hands-on session, participants will explore engaging activities that use Halloween-themed data and real-world financial decisions to reinforce middle and high school math concepts such as analyzing candy prices, comparing unit costs, calculating percentages and probability, and solving authentic decision-making challenges inspired by one of the year’s most popular holidays. Each activity connects mathematical thinking to economic and financial concepts students recognize from their own lives.
Participants will leave with classroom-ready activities, discussion prompts, and ideas for adapting lessons to different grade levels while helping students see that math is a valuable tool for making informed financial decisions every day.
