Help students build the math and financial decision-making skills they’ll need for life after high school. This session introduces Money Minutes—ready-to-use slide decks that connect Arizona Math Standards to authentic financial and economic situations students encounter as they prepare for greater independence. Participants will explore engaging lessons that address topics such as budgeting, earning a paycheck, shopping wisely, comparing costs, and other everyday decisions. Each Money Minute uses real-life scenarios to strengthen mathematical reasoning while helping students develop practical life skills.
Designed with Life Skills classrooms in mind, this session will demonstrate how these adaptable resources can support diverse learners, encourage meaningful discussions, and provide opportunities for students to practice the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed for independent living, employment, and responsible financial decision-making.
Participants will be eligible for 1 hour of professional development credit.
